All herbaceous species are 2" plugs that come in flats of 50.  We do not sell partial flats.

Long green sword shaped leaves up to 4’ tall. Grows in wet meadows and on muddy shores, advancing into shallow water.

Andropogon gerardii (Big Bluestem)

A warm season grass commonly found in lowland prairies. It is suitable for erosion control and revegetation projects, and provides browse and cover for mammals and birds. Also popular in landscaping.

Andropogon scoparius/Schizachyrium scoparium (Little Bluestem)***

This medium height, warm season grass grows well in upland sites and is adapted to a wide moisture range. It is used by birds and mammals for food and shelter, and is also an attractive ornamental.

Asclepias tuberosa (Butterfly Milkweed)

This rhizomatous plant boasts showy orange flowers favored by many insects including monarch butterflies. Grows well in drier areas.

Aster cordifolius (Blue Wood Aster)

2-3 feet height. Profuse clusters of blue flowers bloom late summer to mid fall. blooming flower. New England Aster has a violet-pink flower. Attracts butterflys.

Acommon grass of northern bogs and swamps. This species forms colonies.

Caltha palustris (Marsh Marigold)

Bright yellow flowers make this an attractive addition to wetlands. Entire plant is eaten by moose and deer, the seeds are eaten by various birds. Spring planting recommended.

A tall grass (5-7’) often found in drier sandy soils and along the upland edge of salt marshes. A good forage species, the leaves provide food for deer and other wildlife, while seeds are eaten by many birds.

This tall (2-9’) plant flowers in the summer and attracts butterflies. Prefers wetter sites.
